Common Name: Wizard of Ahhhs Hosta

Hosta 'Wizard of Ahhhs'

The enchanting Hosta 'Wizard of Ahhhs' introduces a magical display of texture, shape, and vibrant color transformation to the low-light landscape layout, shining brightly as an elite small-stature specimen. Registered by hybridizer T. van Wyk, this coveted perennial is an exceptional cross between 'Hacksaw' and 'Blue Cascade', forming a dense, spiky little mound of heavy architectural appeal. The long, narrow, and intensely lance-shaped leaves emerge as a brilliant, glowing yellow in the early spring, instantly electrifying dark garden borders and woodland pathways. As the season progresses into summer, each leaf showcases a fascinating structural twist, featuring highly wavy, crinkled margins that gracefully soften into a refreshing chartreuse or lime-green tone. In late summer, short, sturdy scapes lift clusters of tubular lavender flowers neatly above the dense, slug-resistant canopy, maximizing its multi-seasonal value.

Incorporate this unique selection into your shaded borders or woodland features by pairing it with delicate, shade-loving ferns, fine-textured variegated sedges, or the rich crimson plumes of dramatic astilbes to elevate the underlying textures of your garden layout.

Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.

Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
