Common Name: Twinkle Little Star Hosta

Hosta 'Twinkle Little Star'

The enchanting Hosta 'Twinkle Little Star' delivers celestial charm and exquisite, low-profile architecture to low-light landscapes as an exceptional near-miniature specimen. Registered by legendary hybridizers Don Dean and Bob Solberg in 2017, this compact perennial quickly develops a very tight, flat, and remarkably dense mound of heavily modified lance-shaped leaves. The thick, rubbery foliage features an intense, powder-blue color that displays excellent resistance against slugs while retaining a cool, luminous texture in dappled woodland shadows. Each leaf is intensely cupped, ruffled, and dramatically folded into triangular points that radiate outward like a burst of starbursts, creating a highly sculptural, multi-faceted look that catches morning dew and shifting light beautifully. In late summer, short, tidy scapes perfectly proportioned to the canopy elevate soft lavender flowers with delicate, translucent petal margins nicely above the blue foliage.

Incorporate this unique selection into your shaded borders or woodland features by pairing it with delicate, shade-loving ferns, fine-textured variegated sedges, or the rich crimson plumes of dramatic astilbes to elevate the underlying textures of your garden layout.

Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.

Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
