Hosta 'Prairieland Memories'

The magnificent Hosta 'Prairieland Memories' brings exceptional luminescence and sensory delight to the landscape layout, performing as a premier medium-to-large garden focal point. Discovered as the long-awaited, solid golden-yellow sport of the legendary 'Royal Standard', this vigorous Mark Zilis introduction develops a stately, wide-spreading mounded habit of clean architectural form. The smooth, broadly ovate leaves emerge a rich, shimmering gold in early spring, lighting up shaded borders before softening to a refreshing, smooth chartreuse by mid-summer. The foliage possesses a remarkably glossy finish on both upper and lower surfaces, which dramatically enhances its color depth and reflects filtering sunlight. In August, this cultivar extends its seasonal performance upward by launching tall 30-inch scapes bearing large, pure white, tubular flowers that infuse the late-summer garden air with an intoxicating, sweet fragrance.

Incorporate this unique selection into your shaded borders or woodland features by pairing it with delicate, shade-loving ferns, fine-textured variegated sedges, or the rich crimson plumes of dramatic astilbes to elevate the underlying textures of your garden layout.

Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.

Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
