Hosta 'Mighty Mouse'

Hosta 'Mighty Mouse' delivers heroic charm to small-scale shaded spaces, sculpting a perfectly rounded, tight miniature perennial cushion of heavy-duty foliage. This exceptional Walters Gardens sport of 'Blue Mouse Ears' inherits legendary slug resistance through its thick, rubbery, mouse-ear-shaped leaf plates. The dense canopy emerges in spring with a sophisticated blue-green center sharply ringed by a vibrant, creamy-yellow border that gradually brightens to a crisp, clean white as the season matures. In early to midsummer, short and sturdy scapes pop up directly above the neat, structural crown to hold dense clusters of beautiful, bell-shaped lavender flowers that perfectly scale with its diminutive, tailored habit.

Nestle the thick, multi-toned leaves of this variegated miniature selection along rock garden walkways beside fine-textured companions like delicate shade-loving ferns to offset its round, rigid leaf plates. Framing the perimeter with the low ribbons of variegated sedges beautifully ties into its turning cream-white borders, while grouping it with miniature varieties of dramatic astilbes yields a stunning, multi-tiered play on height and texture in shaded containers.

Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.

Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
