Hosta 'Green Eggs and Ham'
Hosta 'Green Eggs and Ham' makes a grand, unforgettable statement in the shade border, assembling a gigantic, wide-spreading perennial mound of dense architectural foliage. This striking, heavy-substance cultivar is highly regarded for its deeply puckered, intensely corrugated leaves that emerge with a rich, satiny blue-green finish. Exhibiting a powerful dome-like cupping and a thick leaf plate structure, this giant variety offers exceptional natural resistance to slug damage. In early summer, stout flower scapes rise high above the immense, solid blue-green canopy, bearing tidy clusters of pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers that capture the playful spirit and bold structural dimensions of this magnificent woodland masterpiece.
Interplant this colossal blue-green hosta behind fine-textured companions like airy, delicate shade-loving ferns to showcase the immense scale and deeply dimpled surfaces of its leaves. Framing the wide base with the arching blades of variegated sedges provides a beautiful, bright contrast against the solid, dark tones of the foliage, while grouping it alongside the rigid, vivid plumes of dramatic astilbes accents the rich structural lines of the sprawling, giant canopy.
Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.
Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
