Hosta 'Epic Blue Wave'

The magnificent Hosta 'Epic Blue Wave' brings spectacular energy and fluid architectural movement to the shade landscape, commanding attention as an outstanding medium-to-large focal point. Registered by hybridizer Charlie Kwick in 2019 as an exceptional seedling of 'Blue Umbrellas', this vigorous perennial develops a broad, dense mound of incredibly thick, heavily substance foliage. The pointed blue leaves feature deeply corrugated and dramatically rippling margins that create a beautiful, rolling wave-like texture across the entire canopy. Its intense spring glaucous coating transitions to a rich, deep blue-green as the season advances, providing excellent natural defense against slugs. In midsummer, sturdy 28-inch scapes ascend above the dynamic foliage, bearing elegant clusters of pale lavender flowers that enhance its structural and color display.

Incorporate this unique selection into your shaded borders or woodland features by pairing it with delicate, shade-loving ferns, fine-textured variegated sedges, or the rich crimson plumes of dramatic astilbes to elevate the underlying textures of your garden layout.

Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.

Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
