Hosta 'Echo the Sun'

The radiant Hosta 'Echo the Sun' infuses a brilliant, sun-kissed glow into low-light landscapes, operating as an exceptional focal point that electrifies shady borders. A spectacular seedling of 'Echo the Waves' introduced by Hans Hansen and Walters Gardens, this vigorous perennial quickly establishes a wide, dense mound of pointed, wedge-shaped foliage. The incredibly thick leaves exhibit heavy, deep puckering and intensely rippled, ruffled margins that create a rolling wave pattern across the canopy. Emerging as a bright, neon chartreuse in early spring, the foliage intensifies under filtered light into a shimmering, luminous golden-yellow that remains clear and color-fast without bleaching or burning. In midsummer, sturdy scapes lift clusters of tubular, pale lavender flowers cleanly above the texturally rich, golden mound, providing a beautiful structural and color contrast.

Incorporate this unique selection into your shaded borders or woodland features by pairing it with delicate, shade-loving ferns, fine-textured variegated sedges, or the rich crimson plumes of dramatic astilbes to elevate the underlying textures of your garden layout.

Info: Our plants are grown in 5.25 x 5.25 x 5.25 inch pots and develop large root systems. These are not a small liner but a plant you can put right into your garden. That means you will get a bigger plant right away compared to a starter plant. We guarantee you will get a true to type healthy plant that you will love for years. If you have any problems or questions we are happy to help. During early spring plants may still be breaking dormancy so they may appear smaller than they will be when they fully leaf out. In Fall or Winter the plants may be dormant which means the may be losing or have completely lost their leaves.

Shipping: We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska due to cost and import restrictions. Plants will be removed from their pots and loose soil removed and the rootball placed in a bag. We are an inspected nursery from the VA Dept of AG
